Help our cause by creating your own fundraising page today!

Your individual fundraising page allows you to share your story and set a goal. The funds you raise will help make our mission a reality!

I am Shannon Mahre of Girls with Grit - coach, athlete, writer, photographer, but most importantly mom.  My goal is to run + bike 100k (approximately 62 miles) on May 21, 2023 to raise awareness for the Children's Miracle Network. And yes, my goal is to raise $100,000 for CMN by midnight on that exact day as well.

Why did I get involved in this? Our first child, Ryder, spent time in the NICU, and I can never, ever truly repay the nurses, doctors and staff that took care of him when Andy and I couldn't. As a mother, I see the crucial importance of supporting ALL of our pediatric programs in Yakima -- and I want to do whatever I can to help these programs be the very best that they can be... for our children, for our families and for our entire community.

On May 21st, myself and 3 of my friends who are also moms (Mary, Megan and Aleah) will begin the 100k at the NICU entrance at Yakima Valley Memorial -- from there, we will wind our way up to the Cowiche Conservancy Uplands trailhead. After hopping onto those trails, we'll make our way over to the Summitview Trailhead where we will then pop over to Rocky Top -- this is where donors can run with us to the base of Snow Mountain!) Up and over Cowiche Mountain, we'll find ourselves at the CCC Snow Mountain Ranch trailhead. After some backroad running to Tieton, we'll head down the grade into Naches. After going through the town of Naches, we'll take the Yakima Greenway to Mapleway where we will take back roads over to Selah. After a jaunt through Selah's town center, we'll bop back to the Greenway. Sarge Hubbard will be our next destination where we will do an out an back to the humane society (this is where donors can join us for a bike ride on the Greenway!). 40th Ave will be our goal next as we head towards Chesterly Park for one last dash to the finish at Children's Village.

We plan to have donation table where our community can help us to reach our goal in Naches, Selah (at Tree Top) and at Sarge Hubbard Park well where we'll get a few minutes to fuel up before I carry on with our mission.

You can also donate and run or bike portions of this event with me -- I know I will thoroughly enjoy the company. :)

If you have questions or would like to be a volunteer, shoot me an email at [email protected].

Thank you all for your supporting Yakima's pediatric programs.
